INDICATIONS
UrgoTul Ag is indicated for the local treatment of wound at risk or with signs of local infection:
– Chronic wounds (leg ulcers, pressure ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers)
– Acute wounds (burns, dermabrasions, traumatic wounds, post-operative wounds) and chronic wounds (leg ulcers, pressure ulcers and diabetic foot ulcers)
Due to the non-adhesive nature of the dressing, UrgoTul Ag is recommended in the treatment of wounds in which the skin around the lesion is weakened.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
– Known sensitivity to silver and other ingredients of the dressing
– Do not use on patients undergoing Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) examination.
PRECAUTIONS
– Treatment with UrgoTul Ag should be carried out under medical supervision
– Use of this dressing does not negate the need for appropriate systemic antibacterial treatment of infected wounds in line with local policy.
– UrgoTul Ag can adhere to latex surgical gloves. It is recommended that gloves be moistened with saline in order to make the handling of UrgoTul Ag easier.
– Concomitant use with other local treatments is not recommended.
– Do not use in pregnant or breast-feeding women, newborn and premature babies in the absence of any specific clinical data.
– Clinicians/ Healthcare Professionals should be aware that there are very limited data on prolonged and repeated use of silver containing dressing particularly in children and neonates.
– Avoid contact with electrodes or conductive gels during electronic measurements. Eg. EEG and ECG.
– UrgoTul Ag must not be used in a hyperbaric chamber.
– Single use sterile individual packaging: re-using a single use dressing may lead to risks of infection.
– Check that the sterile protector is intact before use. Do not use if package is damaged.
– Do not re-sterilize the dressing.
